Weighing in at a hefty 1198 kilograms, the world's largest doner kebab has been cooked up in Turkey.
The supersized stack of meat, which was created earlier this week by the Aba Piknik restaurant chain to mark the start of the Ankara Shopping Festival, was so heavy it needed to be suspended from a crane.
Measuring 2.6 metres in height, the döner was made entirely from fresh beef and was prepared by ten cooks.
In accordance with Guinness World Records guidelines, the döner's final weight was taken after the first layer was completely cooked, and was confirmed as setting a new benchmark by GWR adjudicator Seyda Subasi.

It smashed the previous record which was set in on Jumeirah Beach Road, in Dubai, UAE last August with a doner kebab weighing 468 kg (1,031 lb 12.16 oz).
Following the official measurement, cooks cut the doner into pieces on a special scaffolding platform set up near the kebab to prepare sandwiches for waiting spectators.
